What does your ideal day look like and why this is important

Knowing what your ideal day looks like will help you to decide where your hard earned dollars should do. This is the FIRST STEP to unlocking your best financial life.

Some of us go about our days just surviving. We are working to pay the bills and aren’t feeling as satisfied with our lives as we would like to be.

Your ideal day will give you a perspective of what you’re working toward and help you recognize where you should allocate your hard-earned dollars.

So, how do you figure it out?

It will take you ten to fifteen minutes and after that, you'll feel like a completely different person. I’m not kidding! You will become enlightened. You will have your “a-ha” moment! You will finally feel like you actually know what you want, and you’ll feel relieved.

Go through this guided visualization exercise (download in the resource section here) and if you need, pause, think, and write down the first things your heart tells you.

I have my ideal day ingrained in my head. I can see it so clearly! This gets me out of bed every morning and delegates how my day goes. Some days are not as perfect but I try my best to make things as close as possible to my ideal day. After a bit of conditioning a few things are now natural for me. This is something you’ll begin to understand once you begin planning out how to achieve your ideal day.

Most of the time, we focus on the bigger picture of what we want in life: Money, a nice car, bigger home, or the ability to pay the bills and maybe a for a vacation or two. This exercise has you really break it down to the little details of a perfect day, the things that truly make you feel life is worth living.

A former client of mine realized her ideal life was not at all what she thought it would be after she did the visualization exercise. She thought that she wanted the big house, vacation home, millions of dollars in the bank to spend on travel and all the luxuries that came with money. But when she actually went through and committed to answering every question, she realized that she wanted a SUPER simple life for herself and her partner. She knew she would be happy with a small apartment in a beautiful location that allowed her to kayak in the mornings, grow a garden, and have relaxing evenings at night. She didn’t see herself traveling much since her location was already so wonderful and she didn’t need a lot of possessions – not even a microwave!

It was eye-opening for her. She was able to completely downsize her life by getting rid of a bunch of clutter and she began saving for her dream home.

This exercise helped her discover true happiness in her everyday life.

Try envisioning your ideal day and I guarantee you will learn something so powerful about yourself and where you truly want to be allocating your money. If you would like, do this with your partner… it can help to develop your future together.

Finally, be sure to work through your Financial Priorities Wheel and map out your financially SMART goals
