Do you need a will?

In most cases – yes! Especially if you are partnered up with children and shared assests. Single? Still yes! Read on to find out why...

The point of a will is to make sure your loved ones and beloved belongings you worked so hard for are taken care of. If you have any dependents, you’re most definitely going to want to make sure you everything planned out for them in the case something happens. The reality is we are all going to leave this beautiful world someday and it’s going to be difficult for the people we leave behind.

Having a will in place relieves any additional stress on your dependents. Them knowing what your wishes are leaves the guessing (and stressing) out of funeral planning, asset allocating and future planning. This is a very kind thing for you to do for your loved ones. No one will fight over your diamonds 😛 or have to guess where the cats go. Having everything laid out will allow your family and friends to grieve together rather than stress out about the details together. This is truly a gift you can give them on your passing.

Now, let’s say you’re single and you're not sure if you need a will or not?

Here are a few questions to answer that:

  1. Do you have any assets you would like to pass down anyone, such as a home, investments, or any special items ?

  2. Do you have anyone special in your life you would like to contribute to helping take care of? Such as parents, siblings, perhaps a nephew or niece?

  3. Do you have enough saved up to cover all your funeral costs?

  4. Do you have any pets?

If you are partnered up, knowing each other’s wishes on this serious topic with give you each if you the sense of confidence you know what to do in the event something unfortunate happens.

Don’t put this off and make sure your will is set up and up-to-date today!
